FAQs
How many visitors does Planet Rockwall receive?
A: On average, and not counting peak days (i.e. Jason Castro, 4th of July), PR receives approx. 330 unique visitors per day.
What is the difference between a "hit" and a "visitor?"
A: A hit is when a person lands on a page (downloads / views a page). As a visitor moves around the site, the clicks are counted as a hit. Planet Rockwall counts a visitor as a "unique" visitor only once when they arrive on the site. The rest of that visitor's navigation is counted as pageloads (or hits). You can see this when you are on the home page. When you refresh the page, the counter at the bottom will not count you again. Some sites count you as a visitor each time you download or refresh the page. Not setting a counter to count a visitor once causes an inaccurate, inflated visitor count.
An example of visitors vs. hits: on Wednesday, July 2, PR had 848 visitors. Other pages were counted as hits as the visitor moved around the site.
Total visitor / hit reading:
Visitors: 848
Hits: 2,110
An interesting fact: Planet Rockwall consistently receives more visitors on Thursdays than any other day of the week. (With the exception of certain holidays)
