Collaboration: Music of the German Reformation

Join us for a wonderful evening of learning & a live Bach performance held at The Castle located in the beautiful countryside just northeast of Rockwall Texas, presented in partnership with Dayspring's Legacy Antiquities Library.

It is the 500th anniversary of the Church's Reformation, and sacred music today still bears the marks of that historic event. Join us at 6:30pm for a closer look at how the Reformation reawakened and transformed singing in the Christian Church. We will begin the evening with a lecture and discussion, singing some of the great hymns of the Reformation and learning how they revolutionized the liturgy.

And at 7:30pm enjoy a special live concert performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's Motet "Jesu, meine Freude" (Jesus, all my gladness) BWV 227 featuring the talents of LUMEDIA MUSICWORKS, a vibrant group of first-class artists from North and Central Texas.

Lecture & Musical Direction by Mr. Christopher Hoyt and Mr. Andrew Dittman.

The Anglican Oratory of Lake Ray Hubbard
Organizer of The Reformation & Song (Reformation 500)

The Anglican Oratory gathers in different locations throughout the Lake Ray Hubbard area for one important purpose: to reform people into the image of Christ in the Anglican way. The Oratory consists of clergy and lay persons seeking to establish a common rule of life within a small community. We call people to communal prayer and study for growth in Christian piety, service, and evangelism.
