Brown Bag Lectures
The Rockwall County Historical Foundation, in conjunction with the Rockwall County Historical Commission, presents the Brown Bag Lecture Series for 2012. The Brown Bag Lecture Series is free and open to the public. All programs are from noon until 1 p.m. in the second floor courtroom at the historical courthouse in downtown Rockwall. Guests are invited to bring a lunch to enjoy as they listen to programs that address topics related to Rockwall history.

MUSEUM MEMORABILIA

Highlighting the Rockwall County Historical Foundation’s collection, this program will tell the stories behind some unique acquisitions on display at the museum. Learn about how the post office operated in the past; how the WPA built some of the county’s “nicest” outhouses; and what significance the USS Rockwall has to local history—and much more!

A WALK DOWN MAIN STREET

In honor of Preservation Month, this program will focus on Rockwall as one of the state’s Main Street cities and will include an overview of downtown businesses, architecture and social life from the late 1800s through the 1970s. Also included will be a “Headlines & Highlights” section that will feature ads and stories from downtown Rockwall. In addition, we’ll hear briefly about Rockwall’s Main Street program and the plans for continued preservation of the downtown area.
