Sheri Stodghill Lecture Series 2017

The Sheri Stodghill Lecture Series (formerly called Brown Bag Lecture Series) presents programs of historical interest from noon to 1 p.m. in the third floor courtroom at the historic downtown Courthouse in Rockwall.

Friday February 10 - Lee Herring, Texas Artist
Spend an hour with a Western artist who has numerous paintings on display at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.

"Early 20th Century Transportation"

David Magness will present the exciting beginning of Rockwall County’s transportation development from horse & buggy on dirt roads to a more modern road system.

Thursday April 13 - Kay Brooks Allen
"Zollner Hobo Ranch"

The Hobo Ranch was once a thriving ranch in Blackland, which attracted hundreds of hobos from around the nation. Kay's grandparents owned and operated the property. She will tell the history of the ranch and provide a glimpse into everyday life there, and the hope its jobs gave to many during and after the depression.
