Rockwall PAWS is a 501 (c) (3) organization formed to assist Rockwall area animals in numerous ways. Their mission is to reduce euthanasia and make sure adoptable animals in the Rockwall area find loving homes.
How are they making this happen?
a) by spreading the word about the animals available for adoption at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center & Royse City Shelter, to increase the opportunity of finding these wonderful animals loving homes.
b) by promoting “Litter-Free Rockwall” and sponsoring a monthly, low-cost Spay/Neuter Shuttle in partnership with Kaufman County Animal Awareness Project (KCAAP). We provide voucher assistance to those families that need our help getting their animals ‘fixed’. Spay/neuter is the #1 method of reducing the number of unwanted and homeless animals.
c) by promoting “Save a Heart - Save a Life” and providing funds for the treatment of Heartworm Positive dogs at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center; animals previously considered unadoptable.
In support of Rockwall’s No Kill initiative, Rockwall PAWS will be adding a new aspect to the Heartworm Treatment Program. Usually, dogs are not treated until adopted. To facilitate adoption, some of these dogs will be treated before adoption and cared for in foster homes.
