IF: Gathering | Rockwall 2018

Almost five hundred women gathered together for the first community-wide live
streaming of IF: Gathering 2018 in Rockwall at the Rockwall High School Performing
Arts Center on February 9 and 10. IF: Gathering was founded by Jennie Allen in 2014
and exists to equip women with Gospel-centered resources, events, and community so
they may learn more about who God is and disciple other women right where they are.

In its first year, IF brought together 150,000 women from more than twenty two
countries. In 2018, through technology and events, IF has now reached more than one
million women in 179 countries. This year’s event included speakers such as Jennie
Allen, Christine Caine, Jo Saxton, Ann Voskamp, Nick Vujicic and others. The
IF: Rockwall local live streamed event was led by local women, Jenny Lord and Melissa
Norris.

All of the attendees received a swag bag during the first night of the event which
included a hand-stamped necklace from Words of Hope Custom Leather, information
about Noonday Collection, and a tea light candle from Eleventh Candle Company, but
most attendees may not realize the significance of the items in their swag bags.

Noonday Collection was started by Jessica Honegger in 2010 after she connected with designers from Uganda. After years of working in Africa and Latin America, Jessica Honegger connected with Travis Wilson to start Noonday Collection, a business focused on alleviating poverty through entrepreneurship.

Noonday Ambassador Erin Abbott was in attendance at IF: Rockwall and set up a trunk show for attendees to learn more about the jewelry and the impact of their purchase.

Eleventh Candle Company is a social enterprise working globally to redeem, restore, empower, and equip those vulnerable to human trafficking, abuse, exploitation, and addiction.

For those who had never attended an IF: Gathering, they may have thought they were simply registering for a women’s conference. But IF is so much more than a conference. The local event provided each attendee with an opportunity to find out about organizations within their community such as Children’s Relief International, Embrace Grace, The Pregnancy Resource Center, Exodus Ministries, Home Pointe, and Noonday Collection, all ministries that are focusing on helping and empowering others throughout the world.

Women who attended the event were provided tools to help them focus on their goals, to live out their purpose, and discover how they can truly make a difference within their community and their worlds.

Throughout both nights, attendees were given conversation cards to discuss among
friends, neighbors and women that they had not met before the event. This provided an
opportunity to meet new people, make connections, and for growing friendships as
attendees were encouraged to move to small groups where they may not know the
women in the group. At the culmination of the event was an attendee experience in
which individuals spoke about how they would fan their flame of faith within their homes,
communities, and throughout the world. The event was life changing in those attendees
left with information about how they could provide advocacy, hope, and change globally
and within their own community.
