Heath, Texas -- The Class of 2011 has accumulated almost 40% of their fund-raising goal thanks in large part to “An Evening in Tuscany,” presented by the parents of the Class of 2011 to benefit next year’s senior class activities. The May 22, 2010 event featured live music, delicious refreshments, a silent auction and raffle, games and beautiful garden tours. Approximately 140 people registered to attend the event which has so far raised over $19,000.
A dessert competition was one of the most popular attractions of the evening. Local bakeries generously donated samples of their baked goods for the guests to enjoy and vote on. In a competition that was truly too close to call, Brendal’s Bakery and Cupcake Couture, Lakeview Bakery, Rockwall Cake Factory and Cheesecake Royale all took top honors and earned rave reviews.
The proceeds of the event will primarily support the Class of 2011 Prom and After-Prom activities, helping to ensure a safe, affordable and memorable evening for all RHHS seniors. Traditionally, the senior class provides several fund-raising opportunities throughout the year and now this year’s class is well on their way.
Congratulations to the volunteers, sponsors, donors and guests who all helped to make the 2010 “An Evening in Tuscany” such a fun and successful event!
