Attorney Jim Pruitt Sworn in as Newest City Council Member

Local attorney Jim Pruitt was sworn in October 15 as Rockwall's newest member of the City Council. He was appointed by the Council to replace outgoing member Mark Russo, who will take office as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 in January. Pruitt was sworn in by Rockwall County Court at Law Judge Brian Williams.

Jim Pruitt received his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 1984. Mr. Pruitt has been working in the criminal law field for over 25 years in Dallas, and is Board Certified in Criminal Law. He will serve until the May 2013 municipal elections, at which time he may run for a full two-year term. Mr. Pruitt is married to Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper.
