The City of Heath Joins Twitter Community
Heath, Texas, April 14, 2009 -- The City of Heath has joined the Twitter community to offer citizens a fast and easy way to receive timely news from City Hall. To join in and read the City's "tweets," visit www.twitter.com and sign up to follow "CityofHeath."
Twitter is an Internet-based, social-networking Web site designed for the rapid exchange of information. In quick, short messages anyone can post up-to-the-minute information. Those signed up on the site receive updates on their computer or cell phone in near to real time.
While the free service provides the City of Heath another way to inform residents of everyday events on a regular basis, officials anticipate using Twitter during an emergency or disaster when getting updates out to citizens quickly is critical.
