The Rockwall community has received some very exciting news! One of the RISD 7th graders at Cain Middle School, Piper Fisk, was selected as the Texas finalist for the national Doodle 4 Google contest.
Piper's Doodle was selected from all the entries in Texas to represent our state at the national level! The national winner will be chosen from the finalists of the 50 states based on the total number of online votes that are received by Google.
As the Texas finalist, Piper will spend two days at Google Headquarters in New York and her doodle will be displayed at the New York Public Library. If chosen as the National winner, Piper will have her Doodle on Google for a day, on a Crayon box, receive a $30,000 college scholarship and her school will receive $50,000 to spend on technology. Quite an opportunity for Piper, her school and clearly national recognition for our Rockwall community!
Since the final selection is based on the highest # of votes, it is critical that everyone gets involved to cast their votes for Piper online ASAP. Please help by voting as well as sending this request letter to all of your friends and organizations. Together we can support local talent and provide our community with a great opportunity.
Here's the link to vote! You can vote until May 10th at 5:00 Pacific time.
