Looking for a free activity for your kids? The Rockwall Public Library offers the perfect solution- storytime! There are programs for each age level.
Two programs for babies (newborn through 12 months):
The first is a structured interactive time for babies and their caregivers, through the use of rhymes, music and touch. Registration is required and a sitter must be found for older children. Session 1 is Tuesdays at 10:15 am from January 25-March 1. Session 2 is Tuesdays at 10:15 am from March 15- April 19.
The second program is Man in the Moon Storytime. This is a new program for FATHERS and newborns through 12 months. This language play program uses finger plays, songs, sign language and books for babies. Each storytime builds on the next, so you'll want to attend every class. No registration is required, but older children and other adults will not be permitted in the room. Storytime is every Saturday at 10:30 am from January 22 through February 26.
For Walkers (ages 12-24 months): This program involves music, short books and circle time followed by a social time for the adults and free play for the children. Thursdays and Fridays at 10:15 am.
For Talkers (ages 2 & 3): In this program the 24 months and up crowd will enjoy stories, sing songs and more. Parents/caregivers are required to attend and participate. This is held Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:15 am.
For Preschoolers (ages 3-6): This storytime is filled with stories, songs, rhymes and silliness. Each story is reinforced at the end of the program with a themed craft project. Held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:15 am and Thursdays at 7:00 pm.
For Listeners (ages 4-8): A program strictly for good listeners ages 4 and up. Children will enjoy stories, songs, activities and a craft project. Younger children will need to be kept outside of the room with their parent/caregiver during this time. This is held Wednesdays 1:30 pm.
Family Nights (all ages!): This monthly themed program is a great outing for the whole family. Each program begins at 7:00 pm.
