During last night’s storm in Rockwall, Texas, Harbor Lights, a Sail With Scott vessel, broke away from the company dock and crashed into the Rockwall city dock. This was before it ultimately shifted over to the shore alongside Interstate 30 East. The boat is currently lodged onto the rocks, and Sail With Scott has hired rescue teams to retrieve the 57-ft double-decker power boat. The 80-passenger party boat is Sail With Scott’s only year-round A/C-powered vessel.
The crew has been working since 1:30 a.m. to ensure no upcoming individual cruises, weddings or corporate events will need to be canceled.
Should Sail With Scott have to move forward with any future cancellations, the company will contact each customer directly through the personal contact information provided in the online reservation system.
Update: At 1:30 PM this afternoon, Captain Scott Self reported that a salvage crew is on the way from Austin with inflatable airbags to float the vessel off the rocks. Little or no hull damage could be observed. “Well know more when we get her out of the water, but those hulls are tough. Id be surprised to see any punctures, but even if there were, the hulls have watertight bulkheads spaced every six feet. Worst case, one might ride a little lower than the other.”
There is extensive damage to the outboard engines, but replacements are already on order. Said Scott, “We should be back to full operation by the weekend.”
