On Sunday October 6, 2013 over 1,000 people gathered at the Rockwall Harbor for the 2013 Life Time Triathlon competition. Spectators and athletes were from Texas, the U.S. and all over the world.
The Life Time Tri Dallas is the biggest triathlon in the DFW area. Professionals, amateurs, and first time triathletes trained their hardest to complete this strength defying route in hopes of finishing the race, and possibly taking home the grand prize of $30,000.
USA represented for us today taking both first places for men and woman. Cameron Dye won the male professional division beating Great Britains Olympian Stuart Hayes, who came in second. Alicia Kaye won the female professional division, which is her 5th first place in the Lifetime Tri Series. Second place went to Denmarks Helle Frederiksen. Dyes time was 1:50:17:29 and Kayes time was 2:00:22:47.
The Sprint course went as follows: 800m of swimming, then 20k of biking, followed by a 5k run. The International course was 1.5k of swimming, 40k of biking, ending with a 10k run. Rockwall is proud of the opportunity to host an event with strong and motivated athletes. The triathlon is an annual event and we look forward to it next year. Special thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers for making this an eventful day.
